All the Beautiful Qualities: Kintsugi Therapist Collective

Episode 63

In this episode, you will hear from beloved Kintsugi Therapist Collective members, who participated in a group discussion about what KTC is, why it is a community that matters so much to them and why our care worker collective is a critically important space that counterbalances the extractive nature of capitalism and toxic professionalism embedded in the mental health field.

In celebration of the 5 year anniversary of the LITQB podcast, it seems appropriate to share tell you more about the project that has been capturing my heart the past two years, the Kintsugi Therapist Collective, a community for care workers founded by me and my dear friend and former guest on this podcast, Onyx Fujii.

So many incredible past podcast guests have described what the LITQB tagline means to them: BARRIERS TO EMBODIMENT AND HOW OUR COLLECTIVE BODY stories bring us back  to ourselves. Our collective has shown me what this tagline feels like in my body. In the face of the isolation, ableism and white supremacy that informs our mental health field. Co-founding, developing and facilitating KTC has given me a tangible and enlivened experience of the power of sharing collective stories of vulnerability, brokenness and deep dedication to the liberatory possibilities of our profession.

Thank you Dani, Luca, Sebastian, Bec, Margee, Leah and Alice for sharing your wisdom!
